Charlotte Flair (c) vs. Ronda Rousey [“I Quit” match]
Ronda Rousey’s long-trailed return to the WWE was always going to be a tricky proposal.
At the start of her first run, she impressed many with her in-ring skills and tough attitude, but things fell apart badly by the end.
Her middling promo game was only the half of it, with her social media antics especially attracting the ire of fans and other talent alike.
That in-ring skill is still there, so when she made her return at the Royal Rumble it was no big surprise that she came out on top.

More of a shock was Ronda aiming for Charlotte Flair, rather than Becky Lynch, with whom there’s a lot more animosity.
As it was, Charlotte’s inability to play fair meant that she eked out the win at WrestleMania,
but rather than bitch and moan, Ronda has rolled up her sleeves for another go, with a stipulation that’ll be right up her street.
Flair is no slouch when it comes to submission holds herself, but we can’t see Ronda giving up.
RK-Bro (Randy Orton and Riddle) and Drew McIntyre vs. The Bloodline
(Roman Reigns and The Usos (Jey Uso and Jimmy Uso))
Originally pitched as a (probably overdue) tag title unification match between the Usos and RK-Bro,
this has morphed into something with lower stakes but arguably more interesting.
Drew McIntyre has been incredibly serious business in the WWE ever since he successfully,
dethroned Brock Lesnar (who else has beaten him in the WWE in recent years?
WWE WrestleMania Backlash 2022 Only Roman Reigns and The Undertaker, in our memory) at WrestleMania.
So even when he got shunted off the title, he’s still been in the hunt.
With Drew and Roman Reigns now joining in the battle,
this match now seems like a warmup for a future Drew/Roman title match not very far down the line.
The Usos and RK-Bro won’t want to be overshadowed, but with the big fellas in either corner that feels inevitable.
And we’re picking a Drew McIntyre and co. victory to set up something very big soon.
WWE WrestleMania Backlash 2022: Cody Rhodes vs Seth ‘Freakin’ Rollins
The worst kept secret in sports entertainment was the return of Cody Rhodes, formerly AEW EVP, to the WWE.
Even with everyone knowing, it still felt like a surprise, and it still felt absolutely massive.
Cody feels like a bigger deal now than he did at any moment during his first run,
and his impressive win over Seth (and WWETV victory over Kevin Owens) puts him in the hunt for Roman Reigns’s titles at the soonest opportunity.
WWE WrestleMania Backlash 2022 Before then though, Seth ‘Freakin’ Rollins wants another bite of the cherry.
He’ll pull out ALL the stops (and bend the rules beyond breaking point) in his effort, but Cody isn’t going to be denied just yet.
AJ Styles vs Edge
Another WrestleMania rematch (it’s always the nature of Backlash), but this one has a wrinkle, with Edge acolyte Damian Priest being banned from ringside.
AJ Styles will hope that Edge not having his Judgment Day partner at his side will make all the difference, but he’s not considered the fact that Damian Priest was only the first.
We think that Edge isn’t done building his stable WWE WrestleMania Backlash 2022, and that his dark charisma will help pull some other helping hands into his orbit, and that those faces will do their bit in helping him over the line once more.
WWE WrestleMania Backlash 2022 – Happy Corbin vs Madcap Moss
This one has been brewing, in truth, ever since these two got together.
Corbin has never been one to take losing well, and when he lost his winning streak against Drew McIntyre (at WrestleMania no less), he immediately lashed out at his pal.
WrestleMania Backlash 2022 The two continued to quibble,
and things came to a definite head when Moss refused the chance to kiss and make up,
and Corbin yoinked Moss’s Andre the Giant Battle Royal Trophy,
hitting him with an End of Days for good measure.
This match should put an end to the argument over who was relying on whom,
and we’re going for Happy Corbin to assert his superiority.
Bobby Lashley vs Omos
Another Mania rematch, their first meeting saw Bobby Lashley end Omos’s undefeated, with the unexpected afters of MVP switching sides to the losing man.
It took a bit of explaining (MVP basically felt unappreciated) and there was some back and forth in the intervening weeks,
and now we’re here with the two big men locking horns once more.
While we feel that Lashley certainly has the skills and strength and experience to put away the newbie in a one-on-one match, we very much anitpicate MVP making his presence felt.
WWE WrestleMania Backlash 2022 It won’t be fair. It won’t be pretty, but Omos is getting his win back.
