In one corner, you have the young upstart, Adam Page, who earned his number one contender spot back at Double or Nothing by winning the Casino Battle Royale. In the other, wily veteran Chris Jericho, who knocked off Kenny Omega in a surprise upset later that same night.

The Fozzy frontman, who claims full responsibility for AEW’s success, has spent the proceeding months demanding a “thank you” from the fans. Hangman, meanwhile, has been racking up wins, only to be ambushed by Jericho from behind at Fight for the Fallen, leaving him needing stitches.

It’s a difficult match to call. Do you go with the established star whose name recognition could put more eyes on the product? Or do you put faith in a rising talent who represents the company’s future?

Despite AEW’s risk-taking mindset, in this case, we think they’ll take the safe route and put the title on the tried-and-tested veteran.
