Combat Global Ward vs Perez

NEW YORK – April 13, 2022 – Combate Global today announced its third Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) fight card of the year, headlined by a stellar Mexico vs. USA featherweight (145 pounds) matchup between Jair “El Lupe” Perez (6-2) and undefeated Landry “The Lone Star Kid” Ward (5-0) on Friday, April 15, live on Paramount+ from Miami, Fla.

Paramount+ live coverage will begin with a Combate Global pre-show at 10:30 p.m. ET/9:30 p.m. CT, and will continue with the live fight action, beginning at 11:00 p.m. ET/10:00 p.m. CT.

The 24-year-old Perez of Monterrey, N.L., Mexico will make his seventh-career star in La Jaula, the Combate Global competition cage, where he made his professional debut and where he has posted a nearly unblemished, overall 5-1 record. He will look to extend his win streak to four consecutive bouts.

Ward, who trains with Sanford MMA, defeated Alfrego Ruelas and Dumar Roa with both fights going the distance. Throwing everything he could in his arsenal with crisp boxing and great kickboxing, he searched for an early stoppage in his two fights inside la jaula. In his fighting resume, Ward has two knockout victories, Combat Global but would like to achieve one in la jaula.

Look for the cowboy to use his reach, height and a series of combinations to potentially conclude this bout early. Combat Global He likes to pick apart his opponents slowly and going for the finish when appropriate. But, he cannot get content, Perez is vicious and can dictate the fight if allowed.
